Commercial solar for manufacturing & fabrication

Your machines run hardest when the sun is highest. That is exactly when solar pays you back.

The opportunity

Solar built around your sector

Manufacturing and fabrication are energy-hungry by nature. Presses, CNC machines, compressors, extraction and welding all pull hard through the working day.

That daytime load is the perfect match for rooftop solar. You generate power at the same time you use it, so the savings land straight on your biggest shifts.

How manufacturers use power

Why your load profile suits solar

Most fabrication and production sites draw a heavy, steady load from start-up through to knock-off, with peaks when the big machinery runs together.

Because that consumption sits squarely in daylight hours, a well-sized array can self-consume the vast majority of what it generates, which is where the strongest return comes from.

The benefits

What solar does for your business

Cut the cost of every shift

Solar offsets the power your machinery draws during production, lowering your cost per unit and protecting margins against rising tariffs.

Tame demand charges

Large sites often pay steep demand and capacity charges. Solar, and where it stacks up a battery, can shave the peaks that drive those costs.

Big roofs, big arrays

Factory and workshop roofs offer the space for serious capacity, so you can size the system to a large share of your load.

A hedge on energy risk

Generating your own power reduces exposure to volatile grid pricing, making your energy costs more predictable to budget against.

How we design it

The details we get right for you

Three-phase and supply

We confirm your supply, switchboard and any network limits up front, so the design works with your site rather than against it.

Structural roof check

Older industrial roofs vary. We assess the structure and sheeting so the mounting is engineered to Queensland wind ratings.

Power quality

We specify inverters and protection that sit comfortably alongside motors, drives and welding loads without nuisance issues.

Good to know

Manufacturing solar questions

Will solar handle our heavy machinery loads?+

Solar offsets your overall daytime consumption rather than powering individual machines directly. We size the system to your load profile, and for large or spiky loads we can model a battery to help with peaks.

What size system does a factory need?+

It depends on your roof, supply and how much power you draw by day. Manufacturing systems commonly range from 50kW to several hundred kW. We model the right size against your bills before quoting.

Can we keep producing during the install?+

Yes. We plan the works around your production schedule and shutdowns to keep disruption to a minimum, and most connections involve only brief, planned interruptions.

Is there a rebate for commercial solar?+

Systems up to 100kW attract upfront STC discounts, and larger systems earn ongoing LGC income. We show the rebate already deducted on your proposal.
