How long does a commercial solar install take?+
The install itself is usually a few days for a system up to 100kW, and larger jobs run longer. The part that takes the time is the approval from the electricity network beforehand, which is typically a few weeks. We lodge that for you and work around your trading hours so the business keeps running.
Will the panels still work in a blackout?+
Not on their own. A standard grid-connected system shuts down in an outage for the safety of the crews working on the lines. If you need to keep running through a blackout you need batteries and the right inverter setup, which is exactly what we built for a winery on the Darling Downs.
What happens if something goes wrong after it is installed?+
Every system we install is monitored, so we generally see a fault before you do and can call you about it. Panels carry a 25-year performance warranty, inverters usually 10 years, and our installation workmanship is warranted too.
Do I need to own the building?+
No. Plenty of our commercial work is on leased premises. It does need your landlord's consent, and where a long lease makes buying a system awkward, a power purchase agreement often suits better because there is nothing to buy up front.
