The job
A tram depot uses power steadily through the day, which suits solar. The panels generate while the depot is working, so the power goes straight into the building rather than back out to the grid.
At 30 kW this is one of the smaller systems we have put in, and it still takes a solid amount off the bill every year. You do not need a big roof for commercial solar to be worth doing.

Modelled from the installed system size at 1,530 kWh per kWp a year in Queensland, 18 cents per kWh blended across self-consumption and export, $850 per kW installed after certificates, and 0.7 kg of CO2e a kWh for the Queensland grid. Your own figures depend on your tariff, your roof and how much power you use during daylight, which is what the site assessment is for.
